Alex Marlow Design Engineer
[Hi there] I'm a design engineer with more than a decade spent building products for brands, start to finish — from early sketches and moodboards to prototypes to launches that ship. I began as a visual designer and drifted across nearly every part of the craft, learning a bit of everything as I went, mostly by trial and error.
Being a generalist is just what lets me carry an idea from conceptconcept right through to working codeworking code — and with AI, I can now build the very things I once only handed off . These days I work alone: I run Field Notes, my small design & code practice.
When I'm off the clock, I love photography and anything fast — Sundays I race kartsrace karts — and gaminggaming never really left me either. Music is always on in the studio; I've even tried making some beats myself. Here's the playlist (opens in a new tab) I keep on rotation.

Agentic — hero animation Hero for Agentic, a studio that shapes brand identities and ships them as Webflow sites. Rather than flat mockups, the page builds itself on a live design-tool canvas, with layers, cursors and comments in play.
Asterisk sticker The Div Supply asterisk as a die-cut sticker, stuck to a laptop placed in a patch of fake grass.
MT-1 cassette player A cassette-shaped music player. Part 1: building the model in Blender. Part 2: the final player, running in the browser as a 3D object you can play with.
BrewBot A coding game that teaches JavaScript: the code you write runs a floating 3D coffee shop and its pour-over drone, and fresh language features unlock as you progress. A fond nod to The Farmer Was Replaced.
Journey — on the desk 2026
Journey — on the desk Launch visual for Journey, a Webflow template for creative studios, showing its stacked-image hero on a monitor.
Div Supply — landing page 2026
Div Supply — landing page The launch teaser for Div Supply: components and templates that keep vibe-coded products from looking vibe-coded. A WebGL scene from Unicorn Studio plays behind it.
macOS portfolio A weekend build: a portfolio that works like macOS, with folders, windows, a dock and a readme to open first. Made fully in Webflow, with GSAP handling all of the interactions and motion.
Smoov — creator portfolio 2026
Smoov — creator portfolio A minimal Webflow template for creators who want to get noticed: big type, smooth interactions and CMS collections that make the work simple to keep current.
Journey — studio website 2026
Journey — studio website A Webflow template for creative studios, agencies and freelancers who see motion as part of the story, with cinematic GSAP animations, polished micro-interactions and cursor-aware effects.
Journey — retro render 2026
Journey — retro render Journey on a retro computer covered in stickers, a 3D render made for its launch week.
Puffer asterisk A study of the Div Supply logo: the asterisk turned into a soft, quilted puffer object, first generated in Midjourney, polished in Figma and animated in After Effects.
Fullstack — agency website 2026
Fullstack — agency website A Webflow template for studios, agencies, SaaS and startups: brand identity through to production code, with cinematic GSAP animation and cursor-aware effects.
Texture Generator A mesh-gradient generator with procedural grain, running fully in the browser: move the color points, choose a blend mode and export at up to 4K.
